This actually isn't my snake's first feeding, more like his 4th, but it was my first time to do it since I got him last Saturday. I've been working myself up for this all week because I thought it was going to be a nerve racking process.
It actually went very smoothly. I put him in his deli bowl and weighed him first (8 grams,) then put the f/t pinkie in with him and shut the lid.
I was expecting a vicious strike, but instead he just eased up to it, "tasted" it for a second, then slowly started swallowing it butt first.

This freaked me out, so I ran back into the living room and did a forum search to make sure he wasn't going to die from not eating the mouse head first lol.
While he was taking his meal, I cleaned out his water bowl, and once he had the mouse down completely and started moving around again, I let him crawl out of the bowl back into his tank.
I meant to get a close up pic of him while he was in the deli bowl, but I was so nervous that I forgot :)
Here's a not so great pic of him back in his cage getting an after meal drink.

haha wow your snake looks really similar to mine. I just fed him (Xander) for the first time since I got him, and he ate like a charm too! Gulped that little pinkie down like nobody's business. I'm a happy snake-mommy. :D

My son named ours "Rex." I'm going with the Munson plan and feed on dates that end in a 5 or 0 to help me keep up with it. I'm really enjoying him and plan on building a multi cage viv so we can get a few more.

His viv looks beautiful, Andy! Rex will be living like a king, indeed. I'm so glad you're enjoying him.
