one of my female mice had a litter last week and I've noticed that it seems like both of my females are taking care of them. is this normal? ive also noticed that it seems like both females are nursing the pinkies. do you think that any problems would happen if i feed one of the females to xerxes this weekend? (the male died last week, so i'm at 2 females and eight pinks)

It's normal for all the females to take care of the babies if they are able. If you feed off a female, make sure the one remaining is nursing the pinks or you won't be able to grow them up.

If you plan to keep breeding then you should keep the adult females and raise up a male from this litter.

i dont intend to keep breeding, i only have one mouth to feed. i got the female from the pet store and either she was already pregnant, or became pregnant quickly after she got to my house. there is one that seems to be feeding them more so i think the other one will die.
