2 Pinks A Week?

What are your thoughts on feeding my little guy 2 pinks a week until he moves up a food size, then going to once a week again? He is about 3-4 months old.
Thanks for any help!

A little more information on the size of the snake would be nice. For example, when you feed it a single pinkie does it have a sizable lump in its tummy or is there barely a difference? How long / heavy is your corn? A picture would be greatly appreciated. Also, how large are the pinkies you are currently feeding? If you're feeding a medium sized pinky now, theres no need to feed two pinkies when you could go up a bit in pinky size, although this would depend on some other things like the size of your snake.

Here's a link that lots of people go by... you'll need a scale to make sure you've got it right. I go by it most of the time.

Here's the link... MUNSONPLAN

Another "rule of thumb" is to feed a food item that is 1.5 x the maximum girth of your corn or less 1 time every 5-7 days (5 days or so for smaller corns).

Some others may have other ways... I'm not an expert or know-it-all to any extent. I'm just letting you know what I've done for the last few years.

Hope this helps!!!

He is about 14 inches long if I had to guess...haven't been able to measure him yet.
And I'm not sure on his weight as I don't have a scale...not sure how many first time corn owners with only one snake actually do have a scale?? Haven't fed yet, because I just got him, but that's why I was asking what I should do...should I wait and see how he does with one pink? I'd say his body is about 1/2"-3/4" around at the widest part...here are some pics...not good quality, bad camera...

Yea he looks pretty big for his age, I wouldn't try a fuzzy yet but try to find a pretty big pinky. Preferably 1.5 times the widest part of his body, which means the mouse can be as wide as 1 and a half of you're snake's widest part (somewhere near the middle of the body). I think for the first feed you should try a single pinky and watch him after that. If he still wants more food and the pinky you gave him doesn't make a visible lump in his tummy then you could move him up to 2 pinkies. Keep us posted.

^ Agreed. You should invest in a scale asap too so you know your feeding him accurately.
