burrow under his forest floor bedding and to always go around what looks like licks all the dirt lol not sure kindof weird. Thanks

Never mind on the second part of the question about the licking i just forgot to put back his cave after I put him back in so he was searching for it lol hes happy now but the burrowing I dident think that, that is normal for a snake

Corn Snakes are burrowers, so this is perfectly normal! I love all the little holes they form in the aspen.

1. Yes, some love burrowing. If you want to see him above ground more often, add some more hides and ground cover. Then he might not feel the need.

2. When they stick their tongues out, they're smelling, not licking. He was just having a check around. As you say, probably looking for his hide. Perfectly normal.

A fun hide my snakes love is to suspend a paper towel tube from one of those pose-able vines, this gives them a cozy place above ground where they like to sit. They're easy to spot in the hide, but they feel safe.

Gaia would burrow and just poke her head out to see where she was and then go under to burrow some more. When you looked at the bottom of her tank it looked like NYC subway system with all the tunnels.
