2 tailed corn snake...*PIC*

Clint Boyer

'Former' Snake slave
I just had this snake hatch from my Butter X Motley het Butter clutch.
Sorry for the poor pic quality, it's the best I can do for the moment.

Any input?

Can the baby move on its own? does it act in pain? Think it could be removed?

Sorry about the baby Clint :(

I would put it out of its pain if it is in pain

I would say that is really weird. Too bad it didn't become two snakes instead........try and put it out.....if it's acting weird or seems to be in a lot of pain....
poor guy....

if it's healthy.....I wonder what would happen if one end of the tail is a male and the other tail is a female.....breed itself?
Just wondering.....not trying to be mean here....

wow, now that is different! I will agree with everyone else here and say if it is in pain you have to end it's suffering.

EEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhhhh

god acts in weird way's... huh! just call this a mistake of him! if he is in pain..... well the others also told what you could do!

It still is weird!

Wow, what a weirdlooking snake:confused: (no offence!)
Saw one with two haeds on a picture a couple of days ago, but this one is even weirder. Liked the idea of it breeding with itself (sorry about the "it"). Maybe it would result in a snake with 4 tails?
But, make sure he/she's not in any pain. If it's not, I would love to se pics of it getting older/bigger :p

I agree with the above, make sure it is not in any pain, take it to a vet and see if they can remove one of them.

I don't know if it's in pain

I don't want it to suffer. If it appeares to be in distress I will put it down.

I think I'll give it a chance to see how it does.

It tries to crawl and can pull it's self along but it appears to struggle alot. I've never dealt with this situation before but I will try to do what's best for the snake.

Hey Clint,
Sorry about the little guy. If he is not in pain are you going to keep him. I would. Nature is very strange, I know that in the wild he probably would not make it but in captivity we can care for him and give him a good life. If he is not in pain.
Good luck, let us know what happens.
Jimmy C.
We know you will do whats best for the little guy.

Breeding itself...

I don't think "Siamese twins" are fraternal twins, I think they're always identical twins, meaning they would both be the same gender.

I don't envy you Clint. It's tough to make either decision. :( Best of luck to both of you.

that is really odd. i beg u to try all the options before putting him down...ask if they can hav one of his tails removed. if not...well...im sorry for him:(

I have decided...

I decided to give it a chance at survival. If it can eat and deficate it may live. It has some pretty severe kinks so it's hard to say.
I have seen quite a few pics of 2 headed snakes but never a 2 tailed snake.
Only time will tell.

Hello. I found this old thread and am wondering how your snake made out? Is it still alive? I hope it is doing OK.

It didn't make it....

The poor little guy actually split open right at the junction of the tails. It didn't appear to have a chance of surviving, I had to put it down.
