2013 Sunkissed Bufs?

iculatr

NO...WIRE...HANGERS!!!
Pairing was between a Buf 66% p/het Charcoal Hypo 50% p/het Sunkissed Amel Anery to a Sunkissed Silver Queen (not proven hom. Hypo). Luckily the Sunkissed p/het proved out, but trying to figure out if either one is an actual Sunkissed Buf will be kinda tough. There is a slight color difference, but the lighter one is male and the darker one is female, so that might a factor to consider. The clutch was down to 4 good eggs, and there was also a Classic and a Buf. The Buf is pictured to the right of the Classic.

Jan, if you see this, what are your thoughts? Has Buf given you a "Hypo effect" with certain genes present? Did you ever cross Buf with Sunkissed?

I'm not sure your 'buf' baby is actually one. The ones I've seen have looked much more like hatchling caramels when they are hatchlings

The ones that you've seen...was that in person or photos online? Aside from the male I purchased back in 2011 (sire to this clutch), which looked exactly like the hatchling to the right of the Classic in the photo above, I have another Buf project from this year where it is very easy to see what is a Buf and what is a Classic. Bufs do not have the orange color that Classics have, but rather a very pale yellowish color. Chuck Pritzel hatched out a nice clutch this year that shows a pretty good comparison between Buf hatchlings and sibling Classics.

Just online, unfortunately. Bufs are not very common. I think the strong red tones in the head are what may be throwing me off on yours.
