3 days in a row ?

2 issues I'm dealing with. Not sure if they're related or not.

So my corn's attempted to poo on me 3 days in a row now and was successful on his 1st 2 attempts :(

My corn is approx. 8-9 months old , and up until recently was very active , moving around his viv 24-48 hrs after feeding and since I've started to feed fuzzies he's been very lethargic. I'm not sure if this is just growing up or he's just content to laze around because of the larger meals. He's been growing really fast lately.

3 days ago I noticed a large bump near his tail and it seemed like he was really getting plump , and of course he decided to unload on me there. Was somewhat relieved that bump was just poo.

He had only poo'd on me once before since I've had him.

Next day he nailed me again , both times about 5 min after i'm handling him.

And finally today , I managed to avoid a 3rd time in as many days.

During handling he also seems to be moving his body a lot less than he used to. Mostly staying put even when I deposited him on the bed.

Has my snake become so lazy he won't even exit his hide to poo anymore , he just needs me to do it ?

Should I be concerned ? I assumed he'd become less active with age but not so quickly. And I didn't even think snakes poo'd 3 days a week before today.

I've been following the munson plan for the most part. Slitting the pinks and fuzzies. Since moving to fuzzies , feeding every 6 days. Going to make it 7 just to see if I catch him outside his viv tomorrow.

I don't want to have to rush a paper towel under him every time he goes still for more than 3 seconds. Now that he's inclined to move less, it's making it even worse.

I can avoid handling him for a month if I need to , to break this trend, Not sure if that's the way to go or not. Really would appreciate some advice.

Fuzzies take a lot more digesting, so he may just be less active because his digestion is working harder. I wonder if he's one of those Corns that maybe needs a little longer than normal between feeds? There aren't any hard-and-fast rules, so you might have an exception to the usual guidelines. As long as he's otherwise healthy, you could leave it ten days between feeds and see if that gets him out and about more often - and potentially pooping less frequently.

As for the pooping, I'd advise more handling rather than less (apart from when he still has a visible bump in his middle from feeding). At the moment, he might be training you to put him down when he poops! If you let him do his business with as little mess as possible (hold him over some newspaper until the inevitable happens?) then keep hold of him for a while afterwards, he'll hopefully get the message that dropping a large one won't make you leave him alone.

Well so far I've put him away and then picked him up again right after cleaning myself.

And I wouldn't be concerned about his lack of activity if it wasn't recent. I thought my corn was a ravenous eater and quick to digest up until recently. Handling him now is more like a handling a ball python.

Yep, there's the putting him down thing. Now you know it's coming, you can avoid getting the poop on you so no need to put him away to clean up. I suspect he hasn't pooped on you when you got him out afterwards, as there's nothing left in the bomb bay at that point.

Pinks to fuzzies can be quite a jump for the snake. They do calm down as they get older - just not usually that suddenly!

He started staying in his hide more recently but always seemed to come out and hang out for a while in the early evening , now he's not even doing that and doesn't seem to be poking his head out of hide like he used to.

I'll let him go another day w/o food and I'll handle him again tonight to see if he'll go for 4 in a row.
