Since this is technically for a python, I'll post these here.
I found some cool bark-like paper for Michael's craft store. It was on sale for 39 cents a page (bought 4), but the original price is still under a dollar. It's much more affordable than pre-made backgrounds and more suitable for reptiles (since most are made for fish).

And here's my solution for humidity (it's not normally as low as pictured)....a cut-up shower curtain! It was one I didn't need but I liked the dolphins
