Hello everyone,
I bought a 06 snow hatchling she is rather small ( 5-6 inches ) to be exact.
And she does not act even the least bit interested in pinky mice :shrugs: ..so my questions are this..The guy I bought her from kinda side stepped the question on what exactly he was feeding her..and how often..but he said she has eaten a f/t..when? He wasnt sure..some help huh?
-how long can she go without eating?
-tips or ideas to get her to eat?
-what is the average size of a 4 month old hatchling?

5-6 is is pretty small. I think when I got mine they were at least 9 but I have to check the logs. Was it as pet store buy?? It might be on "light" diet if so.
You could try to find the smallest pinky you can find and feed in the at night. Feed in a separated small container, deli cup, with a secured vented lid. So snake are shy eater. If that doesn't work after an hour or so try two days latter with an f/t pinky and slice the backs to help scent it.
There are a lot of other thing you could do but try that for now. If the snake is brand new to you try to let it settle in for now ,no handling, let him get use to the new home first. except to feed.

Good Luck

No I bought it off of a supposed breeder..keyword supposed!! I have her in a deli container with a frozen thawed, with a cut right on the back of the neck..But I have tried feeding this pinky multiple times..since I bought her friday..but she shows no interest yet..but she is very active and very alert..she doesnt look sick, she is clear so I can pretty much see right thru her..but I will wait again and try feeding live..and then scented if that doesnt work..
Thanks for the Info..
Jeff

I would try a live pinky and place your snake in a darken container. I like using those small butter containers for the smaller snakes. Keep your pet in there with the pinky for about 30 minutes-hour and see if she feeds for you. Also there is the old stand by of scenting with a gecko or an anole. But I just noticed you bought your snake on friday? I would wait a full week before trying any food. Do not touch or do anything with your snake unless its giving it water. Then try the the frozen pinky. See if it eats then, if not, try the live.
