7 month old snake 9.9 grams

I had a a slow starter last summer too. He's a reverse okeetee and he wasn't eating for the first month and half. He was 6 grams when I got him and got down to 4 but now he's finally putting some weight on and is still only half the weight my other babies that are the same age weigh. Him being in the mid 30 gram range and the others being between 42-75 grams now.

I'm sorry you have had such a bad start with your new baby. I've had some bad experiences with a few breeders in the past year. I've not bought from Brian though. You still might have hope with your little one. Take it one day at a time and be very careful with him/her. Good luck...

When Apricot was about 2 months old (Amel) she was quite wrinkly, after a shed though she was fine - she eats like a trooper and poops like one too. A pic would be great though so we can see just how skinny she is :)

Well I took some pics sorry they were really hard to get she was an active girl lol but I may have been over reacting about the skinny but here are some pics. She was sold as an albino okeetee which I thought was the same as reverse okeetee but I guess not, looks like a normal amel to me. But here are the pics

I think she looks good, tiny but good. I would get the smallest pinkies you can for the first few feedings and try to feed every 5 days.

I don't see where she looks wrinkley, but usually if they are it's because they are about to shed or are dehydrated. A 10 minute soak in a 1/4 to 1/2 inch of room temp water would be beneficial for either issue. Put a paper towel or two in a small tupperware bowl, then put the water in and then her. Unless you pop a couple air holes in don't put the top on all the way. Watch her the whole time, she will likely start looking for a way to escape before you even get the top on ;)

She's a cutie!!

Must admit, I can't see wrinkles either. Are they more pronounced when she's at rest? She seems pretty much in proportion in those pics to me and not overly skinny.

She certainly looks like a standard Amel - nothing Okeetee about her - but she has a cool pattern with those uneven and broken saddles :)

Doesn't seem dehydrated or scrawny from what I can see in the pics. Given that we are coming out of winter, I wonder if BHB brumated her? That might explain the lack of size. Normally you don't brumate hatchlings, but a long dormant period would certainly explain the small stature. If that's the case, I'd expect her to grow like a weed for the next few months.

She seems about the same size as little Plissken, but I don't know how old he is. I thought he seemed a bit small and skinny too, but he eats and he's active and he drinks so I've stopped worrying. I figure, he'll grow how and when he wants to. Hopefully your little girl hits a spurt soon!

Yeah like I said I think I was just over reacting about her being small and went to skinny. lol. When I called them to ask about the snake they didn't say anything about her being off feed but they said that she is eating very well and that she should grow. I was just worried that her growth might be pertinently stunted.
