A dumb question

Jrgh17, Really not at all... I got bit by my mates baby and that was just a tickle but i herd that a adult corn feels like a tiny pin prick thats all and to be honest a corn will only bite if u handle it in the wrong and it feels threatened..
 
Like anything, that's going to be subjective. I've been bitten by my (then) sub-adult ratsnake and it was most like sticking yourself with a needle while sewing, more of a surprise than anything painful.
 
If they strike and let go, then it's more of a shock than painful. Even in adults, their teeth are so tiny they only just break the surface of the skin. After a few minutes you won't be able to see a mark, even if they drew a bit of blood.

However it's a bit different if they bite and hang on, which is more of a misplaced feeding response than a "leave me alone" type of bite. Their jaws can exert some force, so it will feel like a hard pinch - enough for you to want to run them under a slow-running cold tap to surprise them into letting go.

Although I may be biased on that second point - I suspect having a Corn hanging off your nose (my only experience) is somewhat more painful than, say, a hand or finger!
 
I'm thinking comparatively. Spencer (adult corn) tried to eat me, and it was nothing. When my milksnake decides I'm snackfood, it hurts.
 
I have never been bit by a snake but I used to have a quaker parrot that did once in awhile to try to get a reaction out of people. With them you can't show any response at all or they will bite you all the time. I think it would be good to adopt a similar no response attitude with snakes ... in other words DON'T PANIC! If you need to run water on him do so but don't go trying to fling him off your finger or nose for that matter (sorry I had to laugh at that one too... that must have hurt though..ouch).

Lol poor guy, the nose, ouch haha yeah I suppose i can't panic... and to avoid get bitten just do the handling correctly
 
The most I've gotten tagged by (corn-wise) is hatchlings...and I have to agree with what everyone else has posted; if i hadn't seen it happen, I wouldn't have even known.


However, the first time I ever got tagged it was by a 6ft boa that had been neglected and got me square in the face... even that was more of a surprise than real pain, however.

It's hard to miss it I think the reference melted my eyes with the bright color.
