We also saw, but didn't get to handle, a very nice little Miami locality corn (a lot smaller, despite being collected almost 20 years ago, than the adult corns I'm used to seeing), plus spotted turtles, a box turtle with a patched shell, and some sliders-most of the turtles are either being headstarted for release or are ones that were injured in the wild, although the spotted ones were captive bred.
It was a great weekend. Although I wish I'd thought to pack a hat and put sunscreen on more regularly. I'm pretty red today...
