A Few Questions

I just fed my corn for the first time, I haven't handled him since I purchased him, trying to let him settle in, so, I took him out of the aquarium, and he started rattling his tail at me, and when I went to take him out of the brown paper bag after eating. Is this common? I thought it was quite cute :grin01:

Also, tomorrow, I'm going to be ordering some pinkies from rodentpro, for my snakes, what size of pinks would be best for the corn? He's a bit thinner then a pencil, but not much (maybe 9-11 inches long?). I was thinking the small, or will large do, as I need those anyways for my milk?

Thanks :wavey:

Yes, the tail shaking is common and it is cute!

I would stick with the small pinkys for a while. He will grow fast and be on large pinkys before you know it.

I agree with Rich on both questions there, my corn rattled his tail at me alot when he was new, especially when I was 'disturbing' him after eating to put him back into the vivarium. He does it sometimes still but not as much, don;t worry about the tail shaking and persevere with handling him!

And the small ones would definetely be a good choice for a while longer - wait till hes a bit bigger before moving onto larger ones. Good luck with your new corn!

When he rattles his tail he's saying "get away you big scary beast or I may be forced to swallow you whole"...lol It's adorable when the little ones do it, not so cute when a really big one does it and poises to strike! lol

I feed all my hatchlings newborn or day old pinks. They do just fine one these. :)

Good luck with your new baby!

Order 50 small and 50 large pinks... they'll be gone fast! I always have at least 300 mice in my freezer. :D
