A great day out! (DUW)

It's no fair, you just drive out a bit and BAM beautiful :p

Thanks, he was lovely! He came bounding over for a stroke (or a carrot) :grin01: Next time I go I'll take some carrots as a treat for them.

I know, I'm very lucky. I used to be even more lucky though. I live on a mountainside, just below a farm. A row of conifers used to seperate my house from their field, and there was a hole that me and my friends could squeeze through, and right after the hole there's a stream and a reed bed, where we used to catch newts, toads, frogs and grass snakes. After the field there's a path leading right up the mountainside, with loads of bracken where we used to see rabbits, foxes, red and grey squirrels, birds and a badger, once. This route was open until we were about 10. Then, the farmer sold his house and his land, and a new farmer moved in.

He wasn't/isn't a nice man. We knew little about the move, so the following Saturday we went through again, there was three of us. We planned to climb right to the summit, which was about a 5 mile walk. We were halfway through the field when the farmer shot his gun at the ground, about 10 feet from us. Needless to say we ran like the wind whilst he screamed 'get off my land' repeatedly.

Two days later, a big fence had been erected to stop us getting through, but he didn't put it on the field side, he put in on the stream side, so we couldn't even catch things anymore. *Mutters swear words repeatedly under breath*

Where abouts are you, Jenn?

It does, if you know where to look and if you're ready to spend lots of cash on gas to go there. I'm from the east, New Jersey. Next door to us is Pennsylvania which is really pretty, especially Bushkill (I love the name) Falls in the Poconos... I'm going there soon so I'll take some shots.

Okay, sounds good, I'll be sure to check them out!

All the best

David
