Did you get your f/t feeder from a private petstore or a chain store.
And was the feeders from a different store?

If you have to make the 30mi trip again, in the future I would try transporting them in the trunk. Just a suggestion :shrugs:

Well see i've always got them from a chain store and it was always good. Untill last time i couldnt go there so i had to get them from a local/private pet store! And thats when i had the problem! I guess they had thawed them then frozen them again. I posted a pic where my snake is eating it and it shows the lower part .
But anyways, i did say that i got them from a different place, thats why i was suspecting that the pinkie was the reason for the regurge.
 
I get my feeder live from a private pet store for a buck plus tax. Then I freeze them. I just check out a chain store and they wanted $9.99 for six f/t whatever,from mouse to pinky. So I'll start ordering on line. What are you paying for f/t?
 
I just got my first order from Big Cheese Rodents. I had been using a local pet store at .99 each. I must say that the quality is tremendously better than what I was getting and I saved about 70%. Especially if you have more than one it is definitely worth buying online bulk.

You;re right, if you have more than one than get online, I dont think it's worth buying online specialy when they make you buy 100 at a time, who know by the time i finish them my snake would be much bigger and move to a larger type of feeder!

I pay 1.19 plus tax! But im fine with it, it wasnt a problem untill i got it from the other place. Besides, i dont have alot of place in the freezer! hehe

Thanks ultimuttone, I only have two snakes and they are feeding on two different sizes and I have heard that Big Cheese is good and will work with you on splitting orders.

Cursed witch. Maybe you could do what I did, buy live pinky's and f/t them, until you can work something better out.

I am fortunate enouph to have a feeder breeder about 10min away who sells for $1 no matter the size, reduces for bulk, and will let multiple buyers purchase bulk together. He is awesome, has even delivered to the house for no added charge. Saves me from having to buy those nasty petco feeders. Not sure but he may be happy to ship as well. If your interested I could probably turn you on to him. (forgot to check where you are sorry)

I was wondering did anybody find out what the #8 in this thread is! the pic of the poop looking thing.... I am suspecting it looks like intestins... but whose?
 
Big Cheese does 50ct bags, and you would be surprised how little room they take up since they are vacuum packed. You might see if there is someone in your area that would split an order with you, buy say 50 each pinks/fuzzies, you each get 25 of each size. Or buy another snake:D.

I'll call him tomarrow. Find out about shipping charges and such. MA is a long way from here. I do know he just landed a big account and maybe he has the means to ship to you. Although you are probably best going with one of the other online suppliers others from this site use. I'll PM you with any info.

Yeah that poopy intestine looking stuff is icky! I agree that the pinky looked like it was lacking any intestines. Bizarre, maybe someone else will take another look and respond. I hope you figure it out, that would concern me as well (being inexperienced myself). Good Luck.

Uhh.... i think its too soon to buy a new one! Specially when i had to go through a lot for the first.

And ironically enough, i can't find anybody who has a snake in my area let alone have someone split an order :(
why dont you guys move to my area! Is it the cold, i know it is, its the cold isnt it, it is, isnt it!?!?!

humm. about that skinny pinky...As a hamster breeder, I sometimes would find dead hammies in my breeder cage, and when they were dead for a while, they had sunken bellies. Most likely because it started decomposing and the internal organs start to liquify. Not good to feed to a snake!
When I first got my snake, I did purchase some frozen mouse pinkies from a store and when I got home I noticed that they really didn't look good so I ditched them out. I wondered if that pet store truly stored the feeders properly.
So at this point, I am so paranoid about introducing anything bad to my snake that I have opted to breed hamsters as food. I know my breeding stock and I can monitor them for sickness and I can control what they eat. The gestation is only 16 days and they have relatively good sized litters. Believe me, it is much less headach for me and it is so much cheaper! I would switch to mice but the male musk of mice gives me migranes.
