Cohabbing is cruelty...
My brother in law lives in New Jersey, and spends alot of time in New York City. He was brought up here in Rhode Island, and visits often. Being in the city so much, he really misses the "quaint old New England way of life".
When he comes to visit, my husband and like to do things with him, he's a fun guy. We have gone to King Richard's Faire, the Newport Mansions, The Airshow, Seekonk Speedway among other things. He came down the Sunday before Halloween and we did the corn maze at Salsbury Farm and Big John Leyden's Field of Screams.
He enjoyed all that, but couldn't stop talking about going to visit "The Vampire's Grave". In RI, there are 3 gravesites that are thought of as vampire's graves. One is Sarah Tillinghast's, 1 is Mercy Brown's, and I don't remember the name of the third one.
Anyway, this Thanksgiving holiday, Eric got a ride home from his friend and former roomate Trosco. Trosco's family is in Massachusetts so he was dropping Eric off on the way, and stopping in for a visit and dinner. The night before Thanksgiving, I got a call at work from the in-laws that they were having a clambake, and did we want to come? Of course we said yes! We got there, and my brother and sister in law and their kids had not arrived yet, but Eric and Trosco were there.
Eric had talked Trosco into going out and looking for Mercy Brown's grave. On the way to the gravesite, they felt something slam into the grille of the car. They thought they hit a bird but thought it strange that a bird would be flying at dusk. They found Mercy Brown's grave and came back. When they arrived at my in-laws house they remembered the bird they hit and checked the front of their car. Stuck to the car's grille was the body of a bat!!
Strange, huh? I swear this story is true. My other brother-in-law Dave got a great picture of it!
