A walk in Dorris Ranch Park (DUW)

The sun came out for the first time in a long time around here. One of my favorite places I have found since moving here is Dorris Ranch, a big filbert farm (AKA hazelnuts) they have acres of orchards, some natural areas, and a nice hiking trail that ends up at the Willamette river. 50 percent of the filberts in U.S. come from trees that have their origins in nursery stock from here. Well, I didn't remember extra batteries so my camera croaked before I got to the river, but did take some pics along the way... Didn't see too many animals, and no people but that was OK :)

Once you get past the orchard there is a more natural area

No leaves on the filberts but plenty of greenery, here is a fern

I will have to bring more batteries next time, I saw so many things I wanted to photograph after the camera pooped out :(

Jen those are great pictures, Oregon has it's downfalls but beautiful country isn't one of them.

Very nice pics! I would love to do some trail riding in woods like that...The woods here in NJ aren't really much to look at....though they are a relieving scene after staring at buildings, streets and dirty concrete all day...

Great pics! Keep up the great work :0)

Beautiful! Thanks for sharing. :)

That fifth photo reminds me of some of the webshots photos I've downloaded. I like using scenery photos from webshots as my backgrounds on my computer. Webshots has SO MANY GORGEOUS scenery pictures!

Thanks for the pics! I'd love to be there right now... Here it was in the teens yesterday and today getting snowed on :(
