PCar's Reptiles
Yesterday afternoon I got a call from a friend at a local reptile shop. I was told that a family dropped off a 1 to 2 year old red tail boa due to moving and living requirements. I was asked if I was still looking for some boas, and if I would just come and take the guy off the stores hands. I was out of work like a lightning bolt and was not disappointed when I got to the shop. The boa is about 2.5 to 3 feet long, and looks to be well fed. The shop was going to have it looked at by a local vet, so I kept the appointment just to make sure there isn't anything terribly wrong with him, but everything looks OK from the outside.

Here are a few pics, but they aren't that great as I was using a cheap camera from work. Enjoy. Will get more pics when I get home.

Congrats! Is that stuck shed, old nose rub scars or bit scars on her nose?

I think it is old shed, but don't really know. I will be taking her to the vet on Friday, so I will hopefully find out there. This guy was supposedly a Petco snake that the kid bought and then when they found out they were moving and couldn't take the snake, gave it to a reptile shop (who in turn called me). Other than the white marks on its nose there is nothing else visible on the body.

congrats paul..............you get all the killer deals, and this one is no exception (glad i live so close and you are my BESTES friend ever) :grin01:

nice one..........keep us updated on the vet visit.

I see how it is now..........

no worries mate. You know your welcome anytime. And, if it turns out I have a male and female now, you can learn all about live birthing along with me.

I try. Things just seem to have a way of falling into my hands.

But I will give you all a secret...good deals are a result of knowing the right people.

Well, I just got back from the vet appointment...only cost me 12 bucks. Turns out this guy is a male and his name is now Sithis (those Elder Scrolls Fans might know this name). Going to do some routine deworming. Fecal will come back tomorrow, so will know if there is anything else going on. but everything looks good.

Now I just need to get my other redtail sexed again and see what I have between the 2 of them.
