Sticking To The Ceiling
There's two feet of snow on the ground and it's been snowing straight for 18 hours. 'Nuff said?
Anyway, I didn't really have anything to keep my corn warm last night, but I forced her to stay in the warm side since the heating pad retained heat for quite a while, and before I went to bed I let her out of the deli cup I put her in with some aspen I'd warmed by rubbing a whole lot and put a few small bags of hot water in her tank (our water heater is gas powered, so it worked).
In my room outside the tank I've got my corn in it's still around 65F, but since the heating pad's been back on for about six hours and with a heat lamp added on the same side to add some heat as well, it's around 80F on the warm side on the substrate above the UTH.
I think I did pretty well since non of us were expecting any snow, and I checked my corn a few minutes ago and she's nice and warm and active. However, it is supposed to snow all day and maybe a good part of the night... and if anyone is gonna say to get some stuff that produces heat... not gonna happen, most likely. I'll take the suggestions, but my mom's got a little Ford Taurus, and while the streets around here get plowed occasionally, our street doesn't get plowed at all. My half brother's probably out with friends sledding and he's got a nice SUV with 4-wheel drive, so I've been trying to talk to him to ask him to go out and get me a bag or two of frozen fuzzies since my mom and I probably won't go shopping anywhere for a week or so.
...bleh. It's cold but awesome looking outside. Here's a few pictures, some were taken last night a little before 1am.
