I woke up this morning and my red bulb for my viv was shot... I bought a backup one but of course when I went to put it in, the bulb was laying in the box broken.... The only bulbs i have laying around the house are white 100 watt house bulbs and I can't get to the pet shop until tomorrow night because my roomate with the car is out of town for a couple days, would it be ok with the 100 watt light for the 20 gallon long tank for those few days to keep the snake warm??

100 watt may be a bit too much. If it's your only source of heat you may try to raise it up some so that it won't raise the temps too high. If you have a thermometer you could check and see what the temps are with the bulb in various heights.

if ur gonna use it rais it a lil more so, 90 is too much. when i was using a 100 watt in a 20h hot side was hitting like 100+ cool side 90's. as long as ur house/ room temp doesnt drop below 72-75 your ok.

thanks, it doesnt actually get below 75's in here but inside the viv it stays at about upper 70's to 80;s think it would just be ok to turn the light off until i get a replacement red bulb?
