ACR registration question

I just recieved our brand new baby today, and since his parents are registered, I would like to also have him registered. Both of his parents are lavender (ACR#1365 and #1366), and he himself is an opal. Where I'm supposed to list his phenotype should I check the box for unknown or unlisted? Where I list his patteren morph, is he considered normal? Also where I check his genotype, I'm even more lost! I'm including the picture of him from where he was hatched if it helps. Thanks alot! :dunce:

His phenetype is opal (amel lavender)
His genotype would be lavender, amel & possibly hets if you know of any hets the parents had
His pattern is normal.

If I have time, I'll look up the parents & try ot help you more :) Maybe someone else will beat me to it

That's right. Both parents were lavender het amel (I checked) so your snake is an opal like cornspot said.

I don't believe you include possible hets of the registeree(?) until they're proven. Otherwise, you risk listing a het the snake may not actually have. This could could cause problems if you decide to sell and your prospective buyer needs that specific gene.

I'd have to go back and recheck the ACR rules for updating records, but I believe they allow you to update hets for free, to accommodate cases like this.

Pretty baby, btw :)

I've seen people list poss hets under the *special notes* section.

Thanks, Piper! I thought of that rather late last night and was thinking of mentioning it. I'm glad you did. :)

You could mention the "possibles" under the notes now. Then when and if you test breed later and find out whether it really is het for one thing or another, you can change the genotype to reflect it. I believe you are allowed to amend your listing whenever you want to.
