Howdy.
Ok so iv just got in from work and i went up to chaek on Dezmond and loe and behold hes on his usual night time mission! lol I didnt want to propper go into my room and disturb him but he ws being really active so i thought id quietly go in and watch him for a bit.

He was beein really lively! LOL He kept doin this really strange thing wer hed keep rubbing his knoes up against the side of the tank and then hed work his way up to the top of his tank as if he wanted to cum out. I made a few deliberate movements to see if my presence botherd him. It didnt seem to, i then went closer to his tank and then sat back down so he must definately have known i was ther. I thought seein as he knew i was ther and he was being so active he might wanted to have come out for a bit. Either that or i was wonderin wether he might be too big for his tank and need more room to move around??? his tank is 12 inch by 9 inch by 9 inch. Hes only a few month old. So n e way, i went to unclip the top of his tank....the only troubly is that it doesnt just have a nice slidey door, it has four clips what make a bit of a raket when i take the lid off. I think this may have scared him a bit cos he went and hid in his vines. I gave it a minute and then put the lid bak on and left him too it. DAMN THAT LOUD LID!!!! Iv allready had him out today for 20 mins but i thought he might have had like to cum out again, but he hid whe i took his lid off. What do you guys rek??? if he is being quite active...does that not nesseserarly meen he wants to come out???

as regards to him being too big for the tank.....he is about 12-13 inch. his tank is 12 inch by 9 ,9.

well, corn snakes are generally nocturnal, so if you watch him most nights you will see him cruising around. My snake Irwin does the exact same thing, he rubs his nose against the glass, then tries to slither up the corner of the tank, its quite entertaining
 
12x9x9 tank? How is he able to vary his temperature when he wants?

Also cum and come are two totally different words. I was reading this thread thinking 'woa, maybe this isnt work safe!'
 
oh ye! lol sorry about that. i do that with loads of words when im typing! jsut spell them totally rong to save myself typing the odd letter or two! lol :rolleyes:

someone mentioned that about his tank the other day. He has got a heat mat which is about 1/3 of the size of the tank in one corner which has a terracotta pot with a hole in the of it above that. He can go in ther for heat, it is also very dark and shnug for him to coil up in. He also has a cave on the oposite side of the tank wer it will be cooler for him. Also, he has hanging vines in his tank and he often chills out on top of them (i would think it would be cooler up ther as well). So i think in terms of different temps he will be ok. He also has a water bowl he can go in if he wants.

Does this sound ok??

i bnought the tank of a lergit web site, www.cornsnakes.co.uk and i have been told that it should last him about 18 months.
 
Ive read from most people on here that a 10 gallon tank should suffice for 1-2 years, whilst a 20 gallon tank should last a lifetime.

FYI: 10 gallon tank is 2310 cubic inches. Your current tank is a mere 972 cubic inches. :shrugs:
