hey i am starting to get worried about my 6 month old corn as it very rarely comes out , it likes to spend most of its time in one of its hides and it is startin to concern me. he is eating fine and when i take him out he is very good natured. shud this be something i am overly concerned about or r sum just more secretive than others?

oh hehe

this is nothing to worry about
corn snakes are usually shy animals and they are "NOCTURNAL" : that means they wake up at night and sleep at day

;)

as long as he acts fine and eats properly dont worry. i used to think my corn never comes out. i woke up once at 3 am and found him "cruising around " the tank

:D

tribal - you could almost be describing my snow corn, only that Chione is slightly older than yours. I`m not worried about this behaviour as the animal looks healthy, is even-tempered when being handled, eats, poops and sheds normally. Nowt to worry about imo :)

Don't worry! My snake Jake does that too. He used to be very active, but since i put in a new hide, he is in love with it and rarely leaves it. I was getting concerned, until one day, i got home late from a party, and discovered that jake was active, just at very late times. No worry!

heheh funny really...
chione hides all day.. all evening too (she`s in the same room as my PC so this room has permanant activity) and only comes out at night... muwahahah i vant to suck your blood!!..
welll you could almost think she never came out at all if it werent for the fact i find her wedged in the gap between the "drip tray" ledge and the viviarium lid every morning!
I have an old mug tree at one end of the tank, its base buried under 4 inches of substrate... makes a great, and stable, climbing frame... and a suitable platform for chione to reach those high ledges that corns seem to love so much!
