Adult Stopped Eating

I got a corn snake about a year back. Shes about three now, and used to eat perfectly. The guy I got her from used to feed her frozen sometimes, and live other times. We were successfully able to switch her to only frozen, and she ate every week with no problems. About 2 1/2 months ago she stopped eating completly. :( We bought her a live mouse to see if we could get her to eat that, but with no luck. She doesn't seem interested in the food at all. She hasn't pooped since she stopped eating, so I don't think it is parasites. I looked for a reason on the Internet, and searched the forums on here for a solution. I've heard it could be because it is mating season, or could it be something else? Last spring she didn't have a problem, but could that be because she wasn't mature yet? Any info would help, thanks.

She could be ovulating. If so, she may or may not lay a clutch of slugs. I have a _whole bunch_ of two and three year old females who haven't been bred who are ovulating and refusing to eat right now. If you let her slide over your fingers, you might be able to feel marble or grape-sized bumps, faintly, in the lower half to third of her body.

I would offer a small FT mouse, maybe hopper sized, every ten days or so. Generally this clears up after a shed. You might want to give her a lay box just so she has somewhere comfortable to lay her clutch if she doesn't reabsorb them. It is most likely that she will reabsorb.

I would get a weight on her now so you can track her weight gain or loss. I would expect her to continue to fast for a period of 1 to (don't have a heart attack!!) 6 months.

She doesn't seem to have gotten any lighter or heavier. I don't have a scale but I will get one this week. She did shed on Saturday. I will wait it out until she is ready to eat again. Thanks :)
