Adult tank sizes

Hey, so I know I just upped Hydras tank size but I'm wanting to start pricing up tanks and stands for when he's an adult and I have a few questions [emoji4]

What is the minimum and preferred tank size for adult corn snakes? I want to know both so I know what to look for and if I'll need to rearrange my room.

Does it need to have a certain height? I know they aren't arboreal but I'm thinking of putting in branches and stuff for him to climb.

What do you use for hides? The only ones I can seem to find in stores are huuuuuuge or probably not big enough for an adult corn (I will keep looking and hopefully go to an actual reptile shop soon)

At what size should he be moved up to his adult (and final) enclosure? He's two foot currently, I was think of moving him up when he got to about three foot, maybe slightly bigger.

Recommended tanks (UK based)? I currently use a Monkfield tank and love it but I'm not sure what size they go up to.

some people will say a 20 gal tank is big enough. While that may be true a 30 or 40 would be better, but I would no go above a 40. I currently use a 30, and plan to stay with it.

"Hides" can be anything. it can be an empty cereal box. Whatever you use it should be big enough for the snake to curl up in, but not so big that he can't touch the sides of it. Believe it or not, a tight fitting hide is better than a big one.

I actually just moved my 6 y.o. snake from a 29 gallon to a 40B (stands for 40 breeder aquarium). I use a folding terrarium top and if I worry about it getting too dry, I just cover the top with a towel.

As for hides, in addition to store bought ones I use these large tupperware containers. They are perfect because they come in any possible size. Around the holiday season there are opaque ones, which are obviously preferred to the clear ones.
 
Okay, I will have a look into those tanks when I'm out [emoji4] I think we actually have loads of them around the house, didn't occur to me to use them! Haha, thank you!

Also, keep an eye out for when places like Petsmart or Petco do their "Dollar per Gallon" sales on aquariums. It's how I got my 40g breeder tank. Then you just need to snag a topper for it (and something like clips or velcro to snake-proof it), and you're set.
 
Unfortunately I'm from the UK and pets at home don't do that [emoji17] wish they did, would make my life so much easier!

Ah, but that sucks that none of the places over there do that. I suppose there's also the option of looking for a second-hand tank, you just have to make sure to completely wash and disinfect them.
 
No, it's fine! Haha, I'm gonna look around gumtree and other shops soon. The garden centre I get my mice from has loads of reptile stuff so I'll see if they have anything cheap [emoji4]

I have one 30 gallon (36x18x12) and two 36x18x18 (I think that's 48 gallons?). For hides, there are lots of suitable options for cold hides, just put some boxes and paper towel tubes around and see what the snake wants to use. To me the warm hide is the most important to ensure the snake is comfortable in it and has contact with the warmth. I use ExoTerra "large" reptile caves for my adults' warm hides. I don't believe that any adult corn will get big enough to need the extra large.
 
Will have a look in tanks with that size, thanks! I might get creative with things in my house and see what I can make for him for hides, should be fun [emoji16] thanks!

It's going on right now. I just got the 20 gallon. Nice tanks.
