Ok, so I'm heading up to the city that has the live pinkies now. Just born today. I will be putting it in a small deli cup with my 6g non feeder, Slytherin. How long should I leave her in the cup with the pinkie before I give up if she refuses to eat it? Or should I use a bigger container that I can put water in? Or even her viv which is a small rubbermaid container?

I will be home with it in about an hour and a half hopefully, so I'm hoping someone has some advice for me by then ;) Really getting sick of tube feeding her and know I can't do that forever.

They are nocturnal hunters by nature. Wait until evening. Then leave here overnight if needed. I try to stay on natural, instinctual rhythms with feeding ours. Maybe Im over thinking it though. Lol

They live a long time. If she is on paper towel, or reptile carpet, I would be tempted to try putting the pink in her viv, in her warm hide, or in a flattened toilet paper tube.

Otherwise I'd put her in a deli, and leave her overnight.

I put her in a deli cup in a cupboard and will leave her overnight. Should I check at all to see if she's eaten before I go to bed? The poor little pinky was so cold, it made me tear up to do this, as I am such an animal lover and it's so tiny and innocent. I sure hope it's gone when I look again.

No- just don't look. And you can give the pink to another snake in the morning if she hasn't eaten it.

She didn't eat the pinkie. Now since I've basically tried everything to do with her getting her to eat on her own I don't know if I should just give up and accept she's not meant to live.
I can keep her alive by tube feeding which is what the vet told me to do to get her going, but I can't do that forever. So do I just quit and let nature take it's course or what? I'm so sad I just need some more advice.

She ate once, though. I would tube feed, or feed mouse tails, and see how she does on that. I don't ever give up. If you are able to tube feed her, or feed tails, and she is gaining weight, she should eventually have enough weight and strength to try to feed. Usually it doesn't take a lot of time to get them going.
