After feeding...ok to move back in?

I have a separate plastic tank w/papertowels laid down in it for feeding. I haven't fed my C.B. yet, but when I do(on Tuesday) do I need to leave him in there for 48 hrs? Or is it ok to move him back into his viv.

The reason I ask is because I don't have a heater for the plastic container. I don't want him to regurge either...

I guess the delimma comes when I want him to digest well in a well heated viv, but I don't want him to throw it all up if I transport him to that viv. It wouldn't be a real far transport...

Thanks!

Daniel

P.S. I'm still not sure whether to feed him 2 or just 1 pinky. Some people were saying that they feed their snaked 2 at one time. Also some suggestions about how often I should feed him would be great. I was just going to plan for every 7 days, but with his size should I go for twice a week? He's 14" right now...

Go ahead and put him back in the viv after feeding. A brief, gentle handling like that usually is not an issue. You will get mixed opinions on the feeding schedule. I feed once per week If you feed twice per week, you spend all your time on husbandry.
I try and get one food item per snake, sometimes I feed 2 small pinkies if I can't get a bigger one etc. Hope this helps

I just take the feeding container and place it in the viv, slightly tilting it to make it easier for them to crawl out and right back into their home. Voila! :)

Yeah just putting him back is no problem.

I feed mine two fuzzys every second time around. So one week they get one the other they get two.

They are a good year now and are getting big. But if your snake is small one item is enough. I heard of people that feed hatchlings in a five day cycle. That's also possible. Just don't overfeed your snakes over a long period of time. Then they become fat and that's (as for us humans) quite unhealthy.

yea when I take my corns out of the seperate tank, I just make sure not to grab right on the mouse they ate. just grab ahaead and/or below it

I agree its okay to transfer him back to his viv. But since this is his/her first meal, I would offer only one pink. Then after a couple times feeding one pink, I would just observe if it looks hungry still, looking for more food. Then you can try offering a second pink after the first one is down.

I agree with babbaloo99 since this will be his first feeding only offer one pinky.
You can the increase it to two later on. When it comes to feeding it has been suggested that you should vary the schedule so dont feed every 7 days, its better to mix it up and feed every 5 -7 days
Hope you understood this post

Well, here's his first meal. After reading through Kathy's instructions on her website I decided to go ahead and feed C.B. Today. Everything went down just fine! I took your advice and set his feeding cage in his bigger viv and tilted it, he went in smoothly with no complications. He's now relaxing on the warm side in his little hut. I got some great shots of the feeding:

Oh yeah...he did constrict too!! Coool.
