aggressive after feeding

Hi everyone
I fed my adult male corn last night for the first time since I got him. After he had finished I went to pick him up to put him back in his viv as I had fed him in the spare one. When I went to get him he went into the striking pose and starting 'rattling' his tail. I didn't really want to disturb him too much so I left him in the spare viv over night.
When I went to put him back in his viv this morning he again went into the striking position. I picked him up anyway as I wanted him back in his viv and he relaxed pretty much straight away (he didn't try to bite me!)
He has been such a good natured snake since I had him and this kinda threw me!
I just wanted to know if this is normal behaviour for adult corns after eating? My female adult who I also fed for the first time last night was as calm as anything!?
Sorry for such a long post for such a simple question!
Cheers :D
