Agressive during shed?

Hi, i got my first cornsnake a few weeks ago and shes starting to show signs of shedding. This is the first time ive had a snake, let alone having it shed. I was wondering, do all snakes get very hostile while they are shedding? Because ive never seen my snake so agressive during the few weeks that ive had her. Also i fed her 3 days ago, and the mouse isnt fully digested, could that also be a reason? (btw, i wasnt sure of it at the time because i didnt notice her eyes changing, i was surprised that she actually ate something even though shes going to shed real soon.) anyways, i have my humidity up ( its inbetween 60-70, i know thats high, and i have to find a way to bring it down) and im waiting to see her after she sheds. :)

Yeah, most snakes are more aggressive when in shed, especially while their eyes are semi-opaque. Most corns seem to grow out of this, and for my corns, shed is when they're at their mellowest. You haven't had your snake for long, so it's not surprising that it's defensive at this time.

The only thing that concerns me about your story is the part about her not digesting the mouse after 3 days. Are you basing this on actually seeing a lump in her? After 3 days there shouldn't be much, if any lump. Make sure you check your temps. Also, I've noticed that many very young corns have a hard time digesting when they're going INTO shed. I'd say that 90+% of the hatchling regurges I've seen have been due to this situation. Feeding between blue and the actual shed doesn't seem to be as much of a problem. :shrugs:

Good luck.

Hi, thanks for the input, the mouse isnt that noticeable, but thats probably because the snake has been staying in the cooler end (70-75). But since iv tried picking her up, shes gone into her warm hide for most of the day. Last time i fed her, the lump was basically gone after 2 days, so its probably the shedding thats slowing it down.
