im sooo dumb i fed my baby cornsnake inits cage grrrr...this i sad...especially 4 me....BECAUSE I WORK IN A PET STORE!!! dammit :( now sid tries to strike at me ahhh some one please help me

If you fed the snake in it's viv and you know that was the wrong thing to do before doing it, then that's not dumb.

It's reckless and/or lazy.

Do as Joel suggests and just pick the snake up. It may bite you, but it won't hurt. That is, unfortunately, the price you pay. ;)

One time feeding in their tank doesn't turn them into "striking at you all the time" snakes. Maybe he's just ticked off, about to shed or simply doesn't want to be bothered. Now, if you just fed it and are trying to pick it up it probably thinks you are trying to feed it again. And if its a baby some times they have attitude whether you feed them in their tanks or not. Best thing to do is like every one else said, pick it up. I feed most my babies in their tubs as well as adults. I have a couple babies that act like cobras. But all the adults are laid back. As long as you continue to hold your snake on non feeding days it will be fine. :)
 
Just be confident with your movements and it will be fine. As said feeding once in viv wont make it vicious monster, many people do this without any problems.
 
If you have just fed it within the last 48 hours, then leave it alone!

It will be feeling stressed and vulnerable with a full belly. Corn snakes need to be left alone for 48 to 72 hours after feeding, so that they can digest in peace. If you handle the snake during this time it may well cause it to regurgitate the feed, which is something you really want to avoid happening.

If you haven't fed it in the last 2 to 3 days, then follow the advice already given, a young corn snakes bite is nothing worse than getting prickled by a small cactus ;)
 
Just a few questions along the same lines as this topic;

I just fed Jasper one pinkie in a small plastic critter-keeper type cage covered with a towel. It's about 4"x5". Not a lot of room for water, and I just attached my heat mat to the underside of her viv. She's downed the pinkie, but I'm not really sure what to do now. The room is 80F, and there's no water inside with her. Will she be alright to leave for a couple days or should I carefully move her to her viv?

Also, she's over 12" long. Should I just leave it at one pinkie or try to give her another? To my knowledge, she hasn't been fed in two weeks (Or so the pet store lady says) and I've had her since last Thursday.

Asked on another forum as well and it was suggested that I carefully move her from the feeding cage to the viv. I popped the lid and placed it inside, then let her leave when she was ready.

When should I feed her next?
 
It's safe to move them gently from feeding tub back to viv as soon as the food has reached their stomachs. If you want to be extra safe, leave her in the feeding tub for half an hour after she's eaten. When people advise against handling after feeding, they mean the picking-them-up-and-playing-with-them type of handling. A gentle move back to the viv won't be an issue. Also, they must always have access to water.

If she's on pinks, then one every 4-5 days should be about right.
