Craziness
I went to an air show today with my boyfriend. I thought I'd share some pictures and movies with everyone. I hope ya'll like. I saw an F-22, F-15, Thunderbirds, and more.
The movies are definitely worth watching IMO.
I'll post the movies first..Just click the images and it should take you to the movie..

This is an F-22 taking off..It was fast, and my boyfriend could hardly follow it.

This is the F-22 flying..Pretty neat.

Here are the Thunderbirds..

And I thought these two were pretty cool..It seriously gave me chills watching..

Here are some pictures..I don't want to overload you guys too much..Even though I have over 500 pictures..

Great pics! I love going to airshows, too. I saw the thunderbirds when they were in town last fall. Simply awesome.

We must have seen the same plane (F-16, right?). I also got a shot of the "Spank Me".

Yep, it was an F-16. It was pretty funny.
Did you see the F-22? My boyfriend freaked after seeing that.
One guy next to us was like "Man, if I was an Iraqi terrorist and I saw an F-22 flying above me, I'd pull off my turban and wave it in the air and go ladidadidadida I surrender!"
I couldn't stop laughing after he said that. Haha.

Nah, they didn't have a F-22. That would have been sweet though. For the 4th of July in 2000, I vacationed in Bostona and we went to the Pops in the Park and they had several B-2 bombers do a fly by. Boy was that awesome! You could see them coming as just a tiny slit, then they got right over-head and turned and you saw the whole plane. Very sinister to say the least. I couldn't help thinking how I'm glad I'll never be on the recieving end of that!

The B-2 Bomber did a fly by on Saturday, but I was there Sunday. It sucks, I would've loved to see that. It would've been awesome.
Seriously, seeing all these planes makes me want to join the military. Except I'd want to be in the Navy on a ship.

I really wanted to join the Air Force to fly planes, but decided against it. I was afraid that my eyes would go bad, and if I couldn't fly, I didn't want to to do it. Every single person in my family has glasses, but here I am almost 25 and have better than perfect vision. Doh!! Oh well, sometimes I think of joining, but then I figure I've already started down a dfferent path and it's too late for me. So I live vicariously at the air shows.

I work across the street from Pt. Hueneme Naval base.. We had one recently that included the Blue Angels. Wow! great stuff..
While I was in Iraq, I was stationed for a time at Haditha Dam, and one day we had like 300 iraqis out front of our gate threatening violence if we didn't release a certain prisoner- just cause she was a woman. Nevermind that she had been found with an explosive belt on her... Got caught in a taxi at a checkpoit before she could set it off.
Anyway the whole time they were out there demonstrating (about two days) An F-16 kept making low roaring flybys just to make sure they were thinking twice.
Talk about feeling pretty safe! I don't know how to express the power of that symbol in that context.
The near earthquake of a bunch of tanks rolling in was nothing to sneeze at either though! LOL

Aw, it's not too late for you. You still have a few years left to join and become a pilot.

That's crazy. I'm sure an F-16 would definitely have to scare them off. Lol.

The F-22 Raptors are Kick Ace!! My brother is hoping to go to west point and straight to flying the raptor. Thanks for the pics and vids!

Eh, I've already started down a path in biochemistry, seems like a waste of all that time getting two degrees only to not use them.

And tom e, great story! I get so pumped when we can show our air superiority like that!
