So on another thread we were discussing how some snakes of relatively the same age and length ate different amounts of food.

So the question arose as to whether I am feeding my lovely snake enough?

So here are some pictures of her after I fed her today...

So what do you think, does she look well fed? I think I will start feeding her more frequently. At the moment I am doing two pinkies every saturday but I think I will do it every five or six days.

Yeah she looks perfect to me :) I feed mine 2 pinkies every five days and it seems to work fine. I just switched to two pinkies and he is defiantly needing a lot more digestion time than with one, I really don't see him for 3 days at least.
 
Had you just fed her when you took those pictures? She looks fine and healthy, but I don't see much of a lump. So far, you seem to have been doing well, but I think now it's time to move her up to small fuzzies.
 
yes that is straight after she was fed. i dont think the pictures show the lump very well. so I will take a picture of her when she has gone back to normal so you can compare. i fed her a large pinkie and a small pinkie in the pics. Oh and what is the difference between peach fuzzies and fuzzies? Is it that peach fuzzies are imbetween pinkies and fuzzies? Thank you for all your help
 
That's exactly right. Peach fuzzies are either extra large pinkies or extra small fuzzies--depending on how you look at it.
 
it says in my sig :grin01: it was hatched in july 06 so that makes it 6 or 7 months
 
I see. My little guy eats 1 large pinky ever 3 to 4 days. (I just moved to large pinkies because I had a surplus of small pinkies.) He is eatting through them pretty fast.

When should I bump up to two large pinkies? If I cant see a lump after 24 hours?
 
Personally, I don't. I go straight from one large pinky to small fuzzies. There's not that much difference in the size, and my snakes usually take them with no problem.
