Ambient Temps in Tubs (boa)

Smells Like a Rat
How do I get them to where I need them in a tub, since a red bulb or ceramic heat emitter aren't an option?

I'm experiment... I ran my heat cable along the side of one of my tubs (corn not inside ATM) and I've cranked it up, but it's still sitting at 74.4* F... I need the 80's... and this heat cable gets REALLY hot.

I can't heat the whole room because it's MY room and I'd be a tiny bit sweaty at 80+. LOL.

Thanks in advance.

(No, I didn't get a boa and haven't been holding out on you... just preparing...)

Your ambient temps don't need to be that high. A hot spot in the mid 80s should be fine...

Really? I always thought boas required higher ambient temps that NA colubrids.

Not really. Maybe slightly, but not much. I give my boa a basking spot in a tree under a light where he can range from 80-95*F depending on where he is from substrate on up through the branches.

His ambient temperature in the rest of the cage is around 75*F...
