Me neither, Meg! My plans for a little pack of whippet sized dogs is out the window, that's for sure! Flash is head and shoulders above the others now.
There have been a couple of spats between the dogs, as Rosie and Bertie are keen to dominate the pup but as he grows he's less willing to give ground to them. So I'm keeping them busy with the walks and training sessions. There have been some majorly naughty incidents of pulling on the lead, so I'm really working on their steadyness and heelwork.

It's about the time for the unaltered males to start asserting themselves....this is especially difficult when you have more than one male...intact or not. It always seems about now that their brains leave their bodies and all training you did went away....that comes back pretty quickly though if you can get through it without exploding your head off your shoulders

I really do want to let Flash mature more before he gets neutered, but there's another side effect of his hormones......Bertie has suddenly started lifting his leg to pee about 75% of the time! At nearly 3 years old he's finally stopped squatting like a girl.

Bertie is just asserting himself.....my male only marks when there's other dogs around, otherwise he squats or squats while slightly lifting a leg. The pitbulls run to ACL issues and have shallow patellas so if you can wait, it might help...my friend's pit mix wasn't neutered until he was well over 2 years old and he still ended up with ACL issues in both legs....not sure how much it makes a difference if they are already prone to it. I've never had an issue with a dog in 50 years including german shepherds for 25 of those....and they were all spayed or neutered at 6 months. If you can manage them properly (and it sounds like you can) waiting is not an issue.....

Then I noticed a little pack of more running dogs....it was Flash's family! Rosie and Flash's mum didn't get on too well so we called them apart and met up with leashes back on.
Flash's mum is the dog with the white nose, his sister has the white face and his dad is all black

As you can see, Flash's dad really does look pure whippet, so it must be his mum that has greyhound in her ancestry. As, in theory, raw fed dogs grow slower and more steadily than kibble-fed ones, I have no idea how big he'll be in the end, as he's much bigger than either of his parents!

If he doesn't stop counter-surfing, you can have him for 50p! I'm at fault, I forget how tall he is and how far he can reach, so I found he'd had fun with a packet of gravy granules and some instant chocolate drink while I was on the loo today. None was eaten, just mysterious artwork in powder form everywhere and chewed up containers!Wow, we must've just missed bumping into each other whilst I was down in town! I walked that way to get there and back
Flash is just growing like a weed, he looks so handsome

A sunny day, so we went down to the river to get muddy! The tide ws out so the dogs had great fun racing around after waders and gulls. Then I noticed Rosie frantically pawing at her mouth... she'd grabbed and bit a stick and had it wedged across the roof of her mouth. I managed to flick it out with no harm done. I don't throw sticks for my dogs but like kids they'll still get into trouble when they can!

I've got exhausted dogs! Yesterday we went off to a local watersports centre that has big lakes, streams, marshland, scrub and forest. The dogs had a great time, running around, chasing waterfowl, playing wih other dogs and meeting new people.

It had literally just been hit, it was still warm and bleeding and had cooled down and was stiffened up by the time I was skinning it. Roadkill is legal to pick up here, in season or not, but you'd be in trouble if you were the car that showed marks from impact on something like a deer, because then it could be argued that you'd ran the animal down. Suicide pheasants are really common this time of year.
