Anery or charcoal?

I have had this girl for a year now, bred her to an amel motley het anery, only got 2 viable eggs both hatched out as normal motley. I know that isn't enough eggs to prove that she is an anery and/or enough to prove if the sire is infact het anery. She was an owner surrender at a petshop, I saw her and had to have her. She was sold as a lavender, which of course she is not. She is a motley. But now I wonder if she is a charcoal or an anery? I'm trying to set up breeding plans for next year and am wondering if I should breed her to my snow or my het charcoal! What do you all think?

Charcoal motleys are exceedingly rare. It is unlikely an adult female charcoal motley would be dropped off at a pet store. I would breed her to the snow.

Charcoal motleys are exceedingly rare. .

And even more so in Canada, I've been trying to source out one up here for a few years. We found one from someone who was supposedly reputable so we purchased her (she was supposed to be a he and the "breeder" refused to do anything when we made him aware that he was actually a she), all that aside we bred her this year to a ghost to prove it out because we were fairly certain that she wasn't even a charcoal and sure enough, she's just a really pretty anery motley het hypo.
So I know she was a surrender, but I also know that a few years ago there were a pile of anery's in Alberta that were marketed as charcoals.
I agree, breed her to the snow, hopefully though that proves to be the wrong one :)

I have 2 "males" that are females! Seems like a common thing lol! I went to Edmonton last year, bought a sexed amel mot pair, got them home and both females. I texted the seller but he ignored my texts and it's a 5 hour drive so not worth it to bring her back.

We'll see what happens with the snow :) He is het or homo hypo, wish it was easier to tell with them. So that'll test her for 3 different genes. Just wish he was het motley too.
He is so pink!

Breeding him to my hypo this year to see if he is het or homo. She was sold with no hets listed so we'll see if we get any surprizes :)

Can you PM me who it was that sold you the pair please? I have a feeling it's the same person. The person I got mine from regularly vends in Edmonton also, I wonder if it's the same guy:rolleyes:

I Pm'd you :)

I got a pair of Gary's, Crazy colubrids, het charcoal, diffused, ultra or amel, so i'll have my charcoals one day :) I had them picked up in Edmonton at the fall EARS show last year and Trevor from TnT reptiles brought me back an anery stripe from Gary this summer from the Red deer show. So lots of fun stuff to work with in the next few years :)
