Well, I had a feeling it was going to happen... my female creamsicle double-clutched without being placed with the male again, and she is over 10 years old. She laid 23 eggs for me her first clutch, 21 of which were good. She laid 25 again last night, 52 days after her first clutch, and it looks like at most 3 of them are viable, probably only 1. It is so upsetting that she went through all that for almost nothing.
It would be easier to deal with the sad news if there were some happy news to balance it, like 21 pippies, but not yet. I am sure it is better for them that they haven't, but I am impatient! She is a wonderful snake - great temperament, great eater, and apparently great fertility. I hope she at least passes all that on to her babies.
I have attached a picture of her in her egg box, stuffed with 25 eggs.
