another feeding problem (please help)

i recently fed my young corn snake a half a pinkie last friday, it was the smaller half, it didn't make a big bulge, so i fed the bigger half Monday, it lunged at it, but it hasn't passed the first, i am newer to this, and i am a worrier, so i need to know, if that is a problem, i have an uth, i built the rheostat off the site here, i am having a little problem getting the temp from the probe right off the glass right. All I have is aspen right on the glass, what should the temp be on the glass? and what else should i have to help him/her digest???? thank you very much for anyones help

Unless it is compacted from feeding in the cage and swallow some bedding, it should poop in it on time.
the hottest it should get is around 85 degrees. That anywhere the the snake might touch. But the temp can go higher if you have an RI issue.
Do nothing else. Let the snake digest on it's own. No handling for 48 hours after feeding.

what is an ri issue? whats the reason for no handling for 48 hours after eating, if you do handle him after eating could that slow down his time it takes to pass the food? if i touch the top of the aspen and it does not feel warm does that matter, b/c of humans temps being higher anyways? on glass i was trying to get it to like 90

also is that normal after he eats, to go and hide in his hut on the side without the uth?

Respiratory illness......
You do not handle your snake (only handle to put him back in cage) for 48 hour after feed due too regulation fears.
Place the probe in the cage, above the UTH under the aspen. this is the proper location. 85degrees is normal high temps .

Yes he will hide for a day or more.
They will go where they want too.

Please, for the sake of your young snake, at the minimum read the links that Lennycorn has so graciously collected. Then I'd recommend that you think about getting at least the Corn Snake Manual by Kathy Love and read it.

There's more to keeping a young corn alive and happy than a person would think.

He meant to say regurgitation fears. (That's our Lenny!) Handling the snake too soon after feeding will cause it to throw up it's meal, which is a bad thing. While your snake won't drop dead instantly, you don't want it to get into a pattern of regurging, but it will eventually die if it continues.

Also, feeding every three days is a little too often. I'd feed every 4-5 days while on pinkies. When it moves up to fuzzies, feed it every 5-6 days.
