Hi,
I'm the one that has the picky snake that only eats anoles. Last night I fed him and dipped the tail in repti cal. When he got to the tail with the stuff on it he spit the whole thing out. My question is, do I treat this like a regurge, and hold off feeding for 10 days or try feeding again sooner? :wavey:

I wouldn't treat it as a regurge. It still might have been stressful though. I'd give him 2-3 days. What have you done to try getting him to eat mice? (Just curious.)

I've tried live which he accepted only once, I tried using a live anole's saliva, I tried rubbing pinkies all over with anole blood, pinkies wrapped in chicken skins and I used that stuff called lizard maker. I'm out of solutions. Any other suggestions? :shrugs:

Oh yeah, I also tried scenting with tuna and he ended up musking the pinkie. I guess he didn't like it huh? :shrugs:

Wow. I guess he didn't. I've had snakes crap on rejected food items, but I've never had a snake musk one.

You've certainly covered just about every base I can think of. When you offer a live pink, do you do so around sunset, leaving him undisturbed with it all night? I've had luck with that. A few stubborn guys wanted to be fed this way, and only in their small hatchling enclosures. Hmmmm.

This is gross but...

I have never had a corn refuse to eat after...gulp..braining a pinkie.
:puke01:

braining sounds good.....

i think braining it is your last hope. make sure you try that but get a man do do it so it won't groos you out!!!! LOL!!!!! :crazy02:

Hi Gal :D

I had good luck braining pinkies for my problem child. I'd read quite a bit on this forum before trying it. One thing that is not mentioned is that pinkie heads are quite fragile... I was so anxious about doing it right I used a little too much force. Imagine? Yes, you guessed... brains everywhere and a pinky... mostly in half. My .02 - use just a little pressure... :duck:

Use a razor blade

67 use a good ole fashion razor blade.

And maize, love the striped anery. Mine is almost patternless. I like the spearmark on the head of yours.
Damn, Guess I can't post pics here?

Pretty!

One more try to post the Colonel...

I PM'd you so we wouldn't hijack this post admiring each others snakes :sidestep:

I too use a razor blade that is designated "mouse only" for use. Really any sharp object will do, they're quite easy to brain.
