When you hatch out a clutch from say
Amel het Hypo male X Anery female
you would get
50% het for snow, het Hypo
50% het for snow

accourding to Mick's. Anyways, so my question is this, how do you breeders pick out which ones have the het trait you want when half or 25% of clutch might be het one thing, and the other percent of the clutch something else, or het for more? Or is it a 100% guessing game? Just curious.

yeah

But I mean how does one pick the ones out of that percentage for their traits? I mean if I have
25% het anery
25% het amel het anery
or whatever how do I pick a keeper out of that 25% with the double het? and how do people sell corns with positives on the het if the clutch is spilt in four liek 25% one thing 25 het another thing 25% het three things etc.

? all just a guess and hope i guess?

That's why they're called possible hets. ;)

Unless you can do gene sequencing on them, you won't know until you do breeding trials. If you want known hets, make sure one of the parents is homozygous for that trait. Otherwise it's all a gamble.

I haven't used Mick's in ages, so I don't remember if it sorts by phenotype, but you really do need to know the phenotypical outcome, too.

If you have (genotypically)
50% het amel het anery
50% het amel

Your phenotypical outcome (what morphs they are) is:
All of them het Amel, 50% possible het Anery.

Also, to answer the question in the other thread: "amel het blizzard" is an abbreviation for "amel het charcoal which is the other ingredient in blizzard." :)
