Another 'what did I buy?' thread :)

What would you guess this is?

Hey all, I am finally satisfied that my domain is now mite-free, and celebrated by getting this little one. It's quarantined for now, but I still don't know what it is! Anyway, I personally go for the 'I don't know but it's gorgeous' option :) And a ravenous eater; never mind mooses, this thing would try and take down an Elk given half a chance.

Its too hard to tell from those pictures; some suggest blizzard, others say more opal to me.

Opal. But how come someone is selling opals not knowing what they are? It was not sold in a petshop I assume?

Thanks for all your replies! As to the questions:

How old is it? I've no idea :)

What sex is it? Tralalaaa.... hmm? What? Oh, yeah.... no idea :)

How can someone be selling an opal not knowing what they are? This one I can shed slight light on. Being in Taiwan I've got an extra barrier to getting my dream snakes: language! I typed the word opal into my translator and got a really weird look from my supplier, he says, 'No. Is snake not stone', which I thought was hilarious. After I stopped laughing he drew a chinese character which just means 'pink'. I drew the one for 'snow' (which I've already worked out is the same in chinese as english for snakes) and he got all cross at me and insisted 'is not snow, is PINK'.

So I was already pretty sure it's not a snow, but feel better that no-one voted for snow. Tell you what though, if it is an opal I have no idea what I'd get to breed with it! *Sallies forth to the genetics threads*.

Well... that is a mighty fine 'PINK' you have there :grin01:

Opal = amel + lavender, so that would make your breeding options clear I think? You can add anery to go for 'snopals' (snow + lavender), motley and stripe is very attractive in opals....
