What's the general idea from everybody on feeding your corn snakes a squirrel ? I personally have not tried this but was wondering if anybody has and did it eat it . I do know an individual who said that her snake did eat a dead kitten . I would have to have seen that 1 though but i guess anything is edible when your corn is fullgrown her corn is about 6 and a half feet long. Well lets ask it this way . What is the wildest or biggest thing your corn has eaten . I trust you guys 2 be realisitic and true with your answers.

:shrugs:

I'm not so sure a full grown corn snake could eat a full grown squirrel. Maybe a baby or a younger squirrel but not a full grown one.

Are you sure it's not a burmese python?

It's people who feed kittens (already dead or not) to snakes that make the rest of us look bad.

Back to your original question; I wouldn't suggest feeding anything wild caught or found on the road dead to any snake. You don't know what was the cause of it's death or what it has gotten into (i.e. insecticides, poisons, anti-freeze...) that could cause your snake to get sick or die.

Can you feed like feeder fish to your snake?

You're thinking of a garter snake. I've never seen a corn show any interest in fish.

The largest thing I have ever fed my corns was a medium sized rat to my male normal, who is pushing almost 6 ft (about 5'9"). Thats the largest I would go for a corn.

A ball ate crickets? Is this for real?

Sorry to sound unbelieving, but it kind of sounds far fetched... Got pics?

Granted, I am not the MOST experianced breeder, but seeing is believing.

He is pulling our chain Mike...

Believe it or not I just had a one of my customers ask me if I had any crickets or guppies. Her vet told her the corn would like them as a change/variety in diet. Needless to say I have referred her to my herp vet.

I live in alabaster alabama and 2 find a good supplier of feed for my corn , vanish b4 i have a chance to get to really know the people. so i pretty much have 2 take what people say on faith .i get my feed now from a dog grooming business now i know lol but hey she's the one that said she has a 6 to 6 and a half foot corn. i have yet to see it but she seems like a nice enuff lady . hell last friday i walk in with my snow in a backpack and ask her for a rubbermaid box and bam she got one and we watched my corn down 4 adult mice. i cant get no better than that i dont have to worry about the ammonia stench that the mice produce if the snake aint ready to eat cant freeze'em already tried that frozen thawed method and aint happening snake wont eat them.she showed me a boa or python there in the store that has spurs (male) do male corns have spurs . I am almost positive that the corn i have grown to enjoy has been a femme all along . Tried the penis pushing deal and thought that i might hurt the snake so I tried counting the shed and that doesnt seem right either .i cant find a good snake show within 100 miles of here . I've only had my snow a little over a year so im still new to all this . { Better 2 ask and learn than act and burn }

the guppies and crickets thing ive been thru with my kids . my boy found a baby rat snake in our screen door and a buddy at work his boy found a ring neck snake so i got the snakes in a 10 gallon tank then my daughters start catching all these anoles on the house. im thinking what is going on here a room and board for the wayward pest.the ringneck snakes eat soley on earthworms(after he found out that the anole was to quick for him) but he would feast on the worms like a king on the buffet table the anoles ate the crap out of the crickets and the rat snake was so small that he wouldnt take in anything. i tried itty bitty crickets and tried the guppies also nope.come home one day with a pinkie and got to the tank and he had a worm half gone and that was his downfall he regurged it up and was dead the next morning. so i turned them all loose in the back yard. thats when i went and bought myself something i could really feed.but like i said im new. the reason i was wondering about the squirrels was my daughter had a cat and she would kill them and gnaw thier heads off and leave the body.

Maybe you shouldn't allow the kitty to watch Hannibal anymore while lapping a nice Chianti. :eatsmiley
