Hello! :wavey: my name is jenessa and i am new to the snake world. I recently aquired a 08' Ultramel corn (named Anubis) who is as beautiful as they get. he is about 36 in. and growing, just recently shed in fact. I have owned almost every reptile you can think of in the past but never owned snakes, though i have always wanted to (mainly because a few years ago i was living with my grandmother who was deathly afraid of snakes). here are some pictures of him and his old tank which has recently been redone with aspen after i was informed of my bad choice of substrate and a few different hides (no more half log, wasnt my choice to put it in there anyways).

his name was phantom but my husband decided he liked Anubis better, and please excuse the lighting, unfortunately all the lights in my apartment give an orange/yellow tint to pictures....

since i am new, feel free to leave any comments/advice about the pics, im always willing to learn new things and do the best i can for my boy. thanks to all for reading my post!

i will post new pictures of his first feed with me and the new cage soon....
 
Nice snake although it would be great to have a pic sometime in natural light weather permitting, to see his colors better. Welcome this is a great place!! You will make friends and learn lots.
 
oh yea I understand I live in Canada... like I said welcome...you will enjoy yourself and don't be surprised if this turns out to be the first of several snakes!
 
He's a really awesome snake, but I also would suggest natural lighting. We can't really see his real colors. But from what I can see - you are very lucky to have him!!
 
he is a trickster! here i thought he had already shed but low and behold we wake up this morning and find a complete shed skin in his tank, the little bugger.

needless to say he is even more beautiful now though in a bad mood today.
 
Welcome to CS. com. For natural light just try taking the pictures indoors with light coming through a window, It has worked well for me. Or make your self a little photo studio, I saw a DIY one in one of the forums once using a box and white tissue paper. Good luck, and again welcome to your new addiction.
