Any Advice on Nose Rubbing?

Well my cornsnake Kitty has been really active since the weather turned. She's been out everyday; even the day after I feed her! She usually comes out and basks and crawls around a bit and then dissapears for another couple hours. The last two days however, she's been out and rubbing on the screen top like crazy. I keep taking her out, handling her, letting her go for walks in the backyard to get some exercise and hopefully wear her out. I took a good hard look at her nost today and I noticed she has worn down most of her rostral scale! :(

She decided not to eat more than once every three weeks back in November. Do you think she's really active because she's ready to step back up to once a week feedings? I'm really worried about her nose. Does anyone have any advice or similar situations?

Ouch! Poor girl... Are you sure it's a girl, though? If I remember right, that attitude (for lack of a better word) is normal during the breeding season for a sexually mature male... I've already had my oldest male ejaculate on my arm more than once since I got him last month, so it's definitely that time of year. Lol!

You could also try finding out if your presence has something to do with it. I can't walk past my Taiwan's cage when she's just eaten--she's usually still hungry, and she'll start pushing her nose up against the glass and just rubbing her face along it when I walk past. (I can't figure out if she's begging, or if she wants to eat me!)

My only other suggestions would be to take preventive measures. Attach something soft (cloth such as velvet/fleece or even plastic) to the inner side of the screen. Keep her out of the cage as much as possible without stressing her out. You could also take any climbing structures out of her cage, to keep her farther away from the screen top. Put her in a taller cage, even, so she has a farther distance to climb to be able to reach it...

Hope I've helped. =)

Oh yeah, sorry I know I always say she, but I actually found out last summer, it's a he. Thanks for the advice. Yah I'm thinking I'll have to remove her climbing branches and as soon as finals are over, she can come out with me for walks and stuff. I'd hate to put something to protect the screen as it would limit ventilation. We'll have to see if feeding again works too...

I'd put him in a plastic container without a screen top, stat.
