Temps in the viv were in the 84-87 range for the last three days. My snake hasn't really come out for the past three nights except for like 10-15 minutes for two of those nights. She normally is out all night. Could the high temps make her less active? It could be she is going into shed which she hasn't done since I've had her. She last ate Sunday evening. I handled her today and she seemed fine. I'm not worried yet but was wondering if anybody has any similar experiences with this?
BTW, we broke down and turned the a/c on today and the temps are 82-83ish.
 
On the hiding aspect. I can tell you mine go in to hiding for about two to three weeks with the only activity being when i get them out to feed them. This has allways happened when they where getting ready to shed. After the shed they become very active even venturing out during daylight hours for a cruise around the viv.

Temps wise I wonder what the range is from cool to hot side of your viv. I am in FL and its been hot and dry here lately but the temps in the viv are good. What i have learned on here and other research i have done so far is your temps seems to be within range at 84-87 for the hot side. If your using a UTH try putting a little more coverage of bedding over the area you want cooler. If that doesent work I wonder if maybe you could increase the air flow around the tank to try and draw some of the heat out. Maybe a small fan set up near by or something.

Just my 2 cents. There are many more experinced folks on here that may have some better ideas.
 
I had that problem all the time, until I just decided to turn the UTH's off altogether. It doesn't give the snakes much of a gradient (the water bowl on one side cools it off a tad), but its healthier than having temps close to the 90s, which is what I was getting here.

Thanks for the input. With the a/c I'm keeping temps around 82-84. There's no gradient but it's about the best I can do without breaking the bank on the electric bill!
