Anybody feed egg to corn?

Corn's don't eat eggs. The one in the video has specially evolved to eat eggs. Corn snakes have evolved to eat mice and rats and lizards and birds. Most people just give then mice and rats, though, and frozen at that. A corn snake's head wouldn't even be able to get that big. And I doubt YouTube is the best place to be looking up how to take care of corn snake.

Dude, it is an egg eating snake! Hence it eats eggs! Corns are not 'egg eating snakes' and therefore do not eat eggs! Dont try it, it aint big or clever lol
Do some research on egg eating snakes if ya want, ya can buy them for around £45 in UK

The first corn snake I purchased was from a crazy reptile lady petshop. The lady, who's info was a big off but mostly really good and helpful for a first time snake owner, Told me that she feeds her adult corns quail eggs every now and then. See seemed to be one of those self taught herpists who have their own technique when it comes to snake care. But she did have many healthy adult snakes on display so I guess her techniques work. Did she really feed quail eggs or was she yanking my chain? I don't know.

A lady on a petshop told that corn do eat quail egg. she told me it good to feed em once a month or so and it very good for their stomach. I will try this when my bby snake reach bigger size.

I have heard many people say that babies have a natural instinct to swim too...However we don't go around throwing our babies into the pool to see if this is true or not. :uhoh:

My point is, As Keepers , we should provide the best possible care for our animals. In my opinion, testing out "speculations" or ideas that have not been consisitently validated, is simply doing nothing more than putting your animal in possible harms way for the sake of personal curiosity or entertainment.

Do your snake a favor, Learn more about it and stick to what has been a healthy proven regimine of care. I think you will find out many exciting new things just by doing that.

Best wishes

I have to agree!

Cornsnakes are RAT snakes for a reason. They have been designed to eat mice, rats and the occasional bird...I really don't think it is adviseable to feed corns eggs...

Some petshop people are VERY knowledgeable its true, but you have to realise that you are a newbie yourself and some people can be pretty convincing and can really appear to be experts when in truth they are not!

When I was VERY new to corns, the "snake guy" at the petshop seemed to know everything and I didn't know enough to argue with him so just blindly believed everything he said! When he told me that it was okay for my corn not have a heat source even in winter, I believed him...why wouldn't I? He was the "expert"!!!! Of course this was very bad advice and I had a regurgitating, rather unhappy corn on my hands...

Now, I am not implying that the lady at your petshop is one of "those" BUT would you HONESTLY know the difference if she weren't? I just think you should do what's best for your snake...there are many TOP experts on this forum who will be only too willing to help you (and I certainly don't claim to be one of them) but just...keep your snakes health and well-being as your number one goal.... :)

Good luck with you snake!! :)

They only asked a question people, come on... No need for sarcasm. If someone is asking a question it's so that they can find out before doing it, was everyone born with the info? No they found it out.
I also know of somebody that feeds quails eggs to corns 'now and then', I don't do it myself and never have/will but it's certainly done, at a zoo no less. I also know of a person that rubs pinkys with slugs for non-feeders and swears that it works. There are many people out there that do things differently and have success. My ADVICE to you is to just stick with what is known. Prevention is better than cure in all cases, so prevent any problems by just not doing it.

This was not just a question. To me is a direct statement of intention to try things that may sound cool to them. Thus my post advising they just educate themselves on the best proven care possible and stick with it.

I wasn't actually meaning you anyway, was noting some of the earlier responses.
To me, it was a statement of something that would be tried due to someone saying that they do it, but it was also a question of whether anyone else did it and so appeared to be 'making sure', thus my comments.

Let me be the one to disagree with everyone else. There is nothing wrong with feeding your corn an occasional quail egg, if your corn will eat it. Most reared in captivity won't have a clue what the little round thing is.

Calling corns "rat snakes" indicates one part of their diet, but it is not exclusionary. Corns in the wild eat mice, rats, frogs, lizards, birds, eggs and the occasional carrion. Hatchlings often eat insects and grubs as their first meal.

I grew up on a farm and we constantly had black rats in the chicken coop eating eggs. I never saw a wild corn in the chicken coop, but I've never seen a wild corn anywhere.
