I am color blind, and no that does not mean I see in black and white, just red's and green's, blue's and purple's, etc look the same to me. Like it is very difficult to tell the difference. I think of it as a disadvantage in this hobby, and I was wondering if it has affected anyone else in ways where they wanted to get out of it? For example, when people say 'Look how pink this snake is,' sometimes I think it looks nothing like pink, at all. I love snakes, but sometimes I can't tell the morph, because I don't know the color, like with some hypo morphs, so I don't know if it will affect me in a bad way. Is this not the hobby for me?
 
I had an ex that was partially colorblind. I think as long as you enjoy keeping snakes, then this is the hobby for you! Regardless of whether you can see the colors properly or not.

The only way you might run into problems is if you ever decide to breed and get some offspring that might be throwing you off. But if you know the genetics, and post some pictures on the forum or ask any local snake people you might know, I think you'll be fine.
 
I've enjoyed reptiles ever since I was 3 or 4 years old runnin' around catchin' garter snakes. And the reason I'm concerned is I do want to breed, in the near future, and with babies I don't know if I will be able to tell, unless I know exactly what genes are involved. And I will definitely post pictures of hatchlings I'm confused on then. Thank you for your input Heather!
