love fishing

I try to go fishing every chance I get.
I am going down to Florida to do some bass fishing over the Memorial day weekend.
Going to Walk-On-The-Water.
Not too far from Kissimee. (probably spelled wrong)
Been down there several times now, Love it.
I have an 8 1/2 and quite a few 6's and 7's from there and my fishing partner caught a 10lb 15oz down there a couple of years ago.
I can't wait to get back down there.
I mostly bass fish here but hit the shellcrackers, crappie and catfish when the seasons are right.
Try to hit Florida at least once a year for either bass fishing or deep sea fishing.
Hard to pass up Walk-On-The_Water when I am in Florida, though

a couple of decent bass from last year

i just got back from the keys...we had some serious tarpon hooked up. no pics though. we had some nice blacktip shark as well as some other stuff. overall it was a good time. unfortunately i have to wait till the hurricane season is over before we head back. thaks for sharing everyone!!!

hey Tom

as I stated above, we are going bass fishing in a couple of weeks but we have already started planning a redfish trip for next year. Thought it might be fun to try something a little different. Ever been redfish fishing? Any suggestions?
Tarpon would be nice. That is on our list also!
a decent little amberjack I caught several years ago. Actually about 8 years ago now that I think about it...LOL

She has actually caught much bigger fish since then. But that is my favorite because it is her very first. I have it blown up on my wall at home.

:-offtopic She loves the Bairds we got from you. That is one fiesty snake. But very pretty

it never bit me till I probed it (and I am very gentle! :) ) but it would buzz it's tail at me a lot. is it doing ok for you? eating ok?

OH, and I am gonna try to go fishing tomorrow if it doesn't rain. I have no idea what I am doing, I haven't fished since I was a teenager. Will be fishing in Blue Marsh Lake in PA. My Dad and niece are going too...I've always needed my Dad there to put the worm on and take the fish off. LOL

yeah i have never actually gone for redfish, but they tend to hang out in the same areas as bonefish and snook. we have fiddled around in the backcountry flats in key west sightfishing and stuff...have i ever caught any of those fish above???? NO. LOL.

i have been trying to convince my pops to buy a bigger boat so we can get some sailfish. we are very limited in the amount of times we can go out in a 23 foot boat with 3-5 foot swells in the ocean. if he listens to me he might get a 28 footer. the odds of that happening in the near future are slim to none. LOL. all in all though, if you throw me on a boat with a rod and reel i'm happy. it really doesn't take much to please me. it just makes it lot better when there is a fish on the other end. LOL...

More pics if anyone has um. i love the ones i have seen already. Thanks, especially you eddie. LOL

Here's a little 21" lake trout (I think something like 3.5 pounds) I got in Canada this week. He must've gone 300 yards in all directions :sidestep: (zipping the drag out the entire time) before we netted him, and another few minutes of non-stop wiggling after we got him out of the water. :grin01: (I'm amazed how much fight they have in them!)

I caught him on this spoon. If you look closely, you can see part of Hurley reflected in the spoon. :santa:

Um gee Chuck, all I see is a gaping mouth reflected in that spoon.....are you suggesting Connie...... :eats02:

For Joe...

A picture of me! ...holding a pike. :p
Caught on a little jig head baited with beef jerky (we ran out of minnows that day, FLAMO).

(Well, part of me, anyway.)

Another picture of a nice walleye, out of the keeper zone. (They throw back the big ones in Canada, a very cool practice.)

thats the closest sighting of connie i have ever encountered!!! those are some nice fish. i am assuming you guys had fun out there huh?

Here's a beauty of a fish my oldest son caught just last week (while fishing with my brother). 21 pounds 9 ounces of dead weight river fighting channel catfish. Rod and reel up in the northern redneck ranges . . . no noodling here!
ChCat.jpg

He caught this on the river here in town, but I had to travel four hours north into Canada to get one bigger just two weeks previous to him catching this one. No pics yet as we haven't gotten those developed yet, but I had a 22 lb. 13 oz. (Actually pretty small for those parts of the river, but great fishing!)

Tom you're just fishing in the wrong part of the state. The 1st pic is a laker taken in the Niagara River.

The next 2 steelhead are from northern Ohio rivers taken on the same day. By the second pic we had each caught 20+ fish and decided no more serious pictures, goofy pics only. It's amazing how a bunch of fish can turn two 44 year old men into little kids!
