Anyone know anything about albino cornsnakes?

I've been told by pet shops people that all reptiles need UV including snakes.
This isn't bad advice. It's untrue but it's better to be selling UV to snake owners than to not sell UV to lizard/turtle owners.

Or it would be better if the pet shops were fully trained.

More and more morphs are being purchased especially of albino variety. Albinos are much more sensitive to light(they would hide a lot). Corns are most active at dawn/dusk so you would hardly see your snake if you have a blinding UV light.

If you want a light to see your corns better, use a night light (Blue or Red bulbs) although make sure they have protectors as corns like to clamber around them.

If you ever need advice on any herps always ask private breeders or people you know have had many years experience. Private breeders are not out to make money, they breed for enjoyment. Countless herps die each year due to wrong advice given to new owners by big petshops or under-prepareed new owners.

our snake seems fine and healthy!!! my roommate had a garder snake before so shes had previous snake experience. and i was looking last night online, trying to find a snake person that we could ask, and i couldnt find anyone, than i decided to find a snake forum and ask:p

If you need advice on anything, just drop me an email. Always enjoy passing on information to the next generation of herpers!

I think most people in the states think we all come from the same place and know each other, we ain't that small!

ye guys are lucky in the US in England here in the south of Ireland ther aint too big a selection but thankfully i have found two breeders that work wit all types of herps

When people say they are afraid of snakes, in most cases they can be "cured" when they hold a snake. I think they are not afraid of snakes but of the "unknown"

Not a huge following in UK but in my area circa 10mile radius there are at least 4 herp dedicated shops.

well in most cases its the unknown part that ppl are afraid of. also ppl dont like snakes cuz they are creepy and stuff. im an animal science major so i pretty much like every animal!!! except spiders....**shudders**
