Attatching the UTH

Ok, I have my UTH and it's the kind with the adhesive that you can stick it directly on the aquarium. I don't want to use the adhesive because I want to be able to take the UTH off and transfer it if need be.

My aquarium is on a metal stand with no solid bottom (except around the edges where it supports the aquarium)

I've read that I could use aluminum foil tape to attach it. So what I was wondering is if I do it this way...do I leave the paper thing on that covers the adhesive? I guess I'm just wondering if it is safe or not to leave on the paper that covers the adhesive. Thanks!

I usually prefer to remove the paper and use tinfoil to foil the adhesive :)
The paper can get yucky and brown if you leave it on while using it.
