AZTECS?

Warmest welcome first of all!

The price would depend largely on the base morph of the snake, eg. a proper aztec lavender would cost more than a normal aztec. :)

Exact prices, I am unsure of...

thanks and hello to you as well

ya im thinking more of the normal aztec :)

I don't live in the States so I can't help you on a price, I know that there may be breeders who would sell them for more or less the same as a regular normal as the aztec pattern is not the same as motley and stripe etc as it, as far as I know, is just a mutation of regular pattern, ie. no "extra" gene is used to make them as is the case with motleys and stripes etc, it's random.

Be careful of petshops, I've seen aztecs and zigzags for sale for ALOT more than regular normals. :)

It can also depend upon the amount of aztec pattern on each individual. I sell my normal zigzag/aztecs for $25-35 depending upon pattern.

Ahhh...forgive me for wanting to splurge a little on showing off my pretty normal aztec boy, but Habibi cost $35...:) The photo is a little dark, yes, but he's just a doll...thanks!

What defines an aztec/Zig zag?

Someone said I have a zig zag, but someone else said aztec

Aztec..
I produced Aztecs last year, and I had them up for $35 to $50 for normals, the pricing varied by the extent and amount of aztecing that was going on..

An aztec is a zigzag with a specific type of pattern. TandJ posted a perfect example of an aztec (named for that broken-glass type of pattern). The zipper zigzag and wide-stripe zigzag look just as the names describe. I occasionally see zigzags with more of a double-stripe pattern as well. And naturally, a single snake can show all of these different pattern "types" at the same time.

Thanks Susan.. That is a kind comment..

For some I don't think aztec's in those parts of Texas are going to be to hard to come across.. I believe KJUN is around that neck of the woods and he deals with aztec'ed animals quite a bit..

Nice Aztecs Susan, I'd like to introduce some sunkissed influence into this gal...

aztec2005-2.jpg

The results could be quite interesting. Since Sunkissed has an effect on the motley pattern, it will be fun to find out if it influences zigzag/aztec as well. And awesome specimen!

...........lavender aztecs are so hot! does anybody seen the mbefore?

The zigzag/aztec pattern seems to be fairly prevalent in the lavender-based morphs. Whether it's just coincidence or the genes are linked in some fashion has yet to be determined. But when you get lavender aztec offspring out of normally patterned parents, and none of the non-lavender siblings have any aztec pattern, it sort of puts the "linked" theory in the forefront.
